Trolley Saver spoke with hundreds of Aussies to find out how they save money at supermarkets. Here are some weird and wonderful tips:
1) Listen to high-tempo music while shopping
Supermarkets intentionally play slow music to encourage dawdling through aisles. Try putting on your favourite workout music instead.
2) Products at the end of aisles aren’t always good deals
Supermarkets sell these areas to companies to promote a specific product. Not necessarily good deals.
3) Thaw your own seafood
“Previously Frozen” seafood is often the same product found in the freezer aisle.
4) Compare products and specials between stores
This is where Trolley Saver can help! www.trolleysaver.com.au
5) Don’t buy 2 for 1 unless you REALLY need it
Getting 2 isn’t really a perk unless you already need the item. It may feel lke value, but what are you going to do with the second one?
6) Eat Healthy
Healthy foods you make yourself are usually cheaper than store bought pre-made foods.
7) Only buy what you need
Throwing away food is like throwing away money!
